Water Water Water……Did I say Water! The Importance of hydration.

Drinking water is essential to our everyday life, however, it is more important to drink plenty of water while taking herbal supplements. When taking herbal supplements, it breaks down the calcification and inflammation within the body, and enough water is necessary to release them from the body. 


  1. Lymphatic System – dehydration is one of the most common causes of lymphatic congestion which can increase existing lymph issues. Without proper water intake, the body can’t release properly, which allows the lymph to become stagnant, and congested due to the build up of toxins. There are lymph nodes throughout the entire body, but mainly in the neck, armpits, groin, and abdomen. The lymphatic system is our body’s sewage system, it maintains fluid levels in our body tissues by removing all fluids that leak into our blood vessels. Drinking enough water throughout the day encourages a healthy lymphatic function and reduces water retention.
  2. Constipation – If you don’t have enough water in your body already, the large intestines soak up water from the food waste, which results in hard stool. While taking herbal supplements, it can sometimes make you more constipated, even if you regularly move daily. This is because the herbs remove the toxins and waste from the body, so it is necessary to drink enough water to clean the colon. 
  3. Kidneys – Kidneys are essentially the body’s water regulators. These organs know exactly how much the body needs and will expel excess water such as urine when there is too much. When the supply is low, the kidneys retain as much water as possible to allow your body to function; they also filter out toxins, dispelling them from the body’s urine.
  4. Skin – The skin is another area of detox, and water keeps the body hydrated and refreshed; this helps to maintain the skin’s elasticity. People who drink large amounts of water are less likely to suffer from scars, wrinkles, and soft lines. When taking herbal supplements if there is not enough water in the body, this could affect the skin.

Water plays such a vital role, it is life. It is not just vital to these specific areas; it is essential for all organs. Water also must be consumed in intervals, and not all at once. There is no right or wrong way to drink water within a day, however, to cut down on running back and forth; water consumption should be spaced 1-2 hours in between.
